Tile and Grout

Tile flooring is beautiful, but requires specialized knowledge for proper cleaning. Dirt trapped in the pores of your tile and grout can cause the surfaces to look dark and dirty and are nearly impossible to remove with traditional cleaning methods. If improper techniques or products are used when cleaning your tile floors, the consequences could end up ruining your floors.

Let Todays Janitorial Cleaning Service renew your tile and grout to its original beauty with our powerful truck-mounted cleaning system that will safely remove dirt and grime build-up.

Ceramic Tile and Grout Cleaning Process:

  1. Pre-Inspection: We will make note of challenging areas, set your expectations and recommend a solutions for each area.

  2. Area Preparation: Our technicians will prepare the areas surrounding the tile, making sure not to disturb any carpeted or hardwood floors, and then move any furniture that is in the way (except for electronics).

  3. Dry Soil Removal: The floor will be thoroughly swept and/or vacuumed. As in any process, dry soil removal is the most important step.

  4. Soil Suspension: We use the highest quality, most scientifically advanced and environmentally friendly products on the market.

  5. Cleaning: Complex areas are agitated manually with a brush, and a mechanical rotating brush is used on heavy traffic areas. The entire floor is then cleaned using a state-of-the-art self contained pressure cleaning system.

  6. Rinsing: A rinse solution is used to balance the pH of the floor.

  7. Sealing/Finishing: The type of sealer and application varies, depending on the surface to which it is being applied.

  8. Post-Inspection: Technicians will perform a walk-through with you to go over the results, and ensure your satisfaction with our work, before leaving.

Hardwood Cleaning and Re-Finishing

Everyone loves a rich, beautiful hardwood floor. Hardwoods can truly last forever if properly maintained, and are also the easiest of all floor types to keep clean and new looking if maintained properly.

Hardwood Re-Finishing Process:

  1. Pre-Inspection: We will perform a visual inspection to look for all damaged areas and determine if the hardwood floor contains any wax, oily residue or other contaminants, which may affect the adhesion of a new finish. We also determine if we can restore the appearance level with our system, or if a more aggressive restoration will be required.

  2. Area Preparation: Our technician will prepare the areas surrounding the wood, making sure not to disturb any other connecting floor types, and then move any furniture that is in the way (except for electronics).

  3. Dry Soil Removal: We will thoroughly sweep and/or vacuum the entire area. As in any cleaning process, dry soil removal is the most important step.

  4. Damage Repair: Our technician will fill in any cracks, gauges or separations with a wood patch, and if we don't have the exact color, the technician will mix colors to match.

  5. Cleaning: The cleaning process includes multiple applications of cleaning solutions with state-of-the-art equipment, which produces no dust whatsoever. This step will remove embedded soil, scuff marks and surface layer of the old finish, leaving your floor in the ideal condition for new finish to be applied.

  6. Re-Finishing: An eco-friendly, non-flammable, waterborne polyurethane sealer is applied to the hardwood floor. This finish is formulated for heavy residential or commercial traffic.

  7. Drying: After re-finishing the floor, we dry it with high speed fans.

  8. Post-Inspection: Our technician will perform a walk-through with you to review the results, and ensure your satisfaction with our work, before leaving.

VCT (Vinyl Composition Tile) Flooring

VCT is generally found in hospitals, grocery stores, schools, office buildings, etc. Over time, the wax finish on this flooring breaks down and heavy soil build up becomes trapped between layers of wax. Sweeping, mopping and buffing are all proper maintenance methods, but a full strip and wax of the entire VCT area is the only way to thoroughly clean this mess.

VCT flooring should be cleaned as soon as it begins to look dull. The frequency depends on the texture of the tile, the amount of foot traffic, the number of coats of finish and daily maintenance care to the floor.

Whether your floors need to be buffed or completely stripped and waxed, Todays Janitorial Cleaning Service, serving Tampa and surrounding Tampa Bay areas, can make your VCT floors shine like new again.
